Mary Anne Van Acker

Mary Anne has been the Assistant Head, Innovation Development and Technology, since 2001. She has been instrumental in leveraging opportunities for BSS students and staff to increase their STEM skills, including but not limited to blockchain, VR, design technology and data analysis. Mary Anne has also led innovation development projects such as Offshore Partnerships and Early Learning Centres research and, most recently, in building BSS data analysis platforms and associated skillsets. Previously, she was a programmer and systems analyst for The Art Gallery of Ontario. Mary Anne holds a diploma in Data Processing. She is a community leader and strong advocate for women in technology, as evidenced by her Toronto Chapter President and National Board members volunteer roles with the CIO Association of Canada, as well as Board Chair of the eLearning Consortium Canada.
