Author Lisa Damour talks teens

Promo for Lisa Damour event at BSS

How lucky were we to hear this compelling author talk about guiding teens to adulthood? Throughout the day on February 22, Lisa spoke with students and staff on topics relating to working through and out of friendships, improving family relationships, perfectionism and, most importantly, self care. Author of Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood, Lisa Damour draws on years of clinical experience and the latest research to provide practical guidance to girls, parents, teachers and advocates. In the evening session for parents, Lisa addressed why confusing and challenging behaviour is often predictable, the transitions that turn girls into grown-ups and how to form healthy relationships between parents and teens. We had a wonderful turn out and we were thrilled to have Lisa’s expertise, humour and generosity on full display at BSS. Thanks to Lisa and all who came out to hear her speak. And thanks to the generous contributors to the BSS Annual Fund and Intersection Innovation Fund, which allows BSS to host outstanding community events such as this.
