Quote with list of university offers to BSS Grads

World’s best universities welcome BSS graduates

The 118 students who make up our Class of 2017 are busy with summatives and exams these last few weeks of school. On June 16, they’ll gather at BSS for Graduation, where these extraordinary young women will receive their diplomas to cheers and a few tears from their fellow students, staff and faculty, and their proud parents. We’ve honoured our grads in a full-page ad of The Globe and Mail, calling upon the potent words spoken by the BSS Head from 1872-1875. Her vision was a country that valued higher education for girls; one that opened its universities to women. This happened in Canada in 1880 and, ten years later, a BSS student graduated from university. Our academic program – from JK to Grade 12 – prepares girls holistically for life beyond high school, and the volume of offers received from the world’s best universities is proof positive how well that is working. It’s bittersweet to say farewell to girls we’ve come to know so well (some of them here from their very first day of Junior Kindergarten!) but we know they will move into this next vibrant stage of life with confidence, compassion and curiosity, making them and all of us at BSS inordinately proud.  In our 150th year, we are particularly excited to extend heartfelt Congratulations to our Class of 2017!
