Explore our student’s Sustainable City in VR

The “Imagining My Sustainable City” project engaged Grade 8 students with their urban surroundings, asking them to explore their relationship to the city they live in and to learn about architectural design and planning for sustainable urban communities. The project, in collaboration with architectural firm No.9, required students to apply the 9 pillars of sustainability through a redesigning of Toronto’s Portlands as a sustainable, liveable community – an area that will become Villiers Island. Students worked individually and collaboratively to create one large, integrated scale model that they presented and defended to City Counsellors, architects, urban planners and developers.
