Martha ROGERS ’90 produces an Oscar-nominated doc
Congratulations to Martha ROGERS ’90 for her work as a producer of “Body Team 12”, which has received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Short. The film, directed by David Darg, tells the story of 12 workers in Monrovia, Liberia at the height of the 2014 Ebola crisis.
Martha is among the team that started the production company behind “Body Team 12”, RYOT Films (www.ryot.org). RYOT creates award-winning documentaries, from feature-length docs and character-driven shorts to experiential virtual reality (VR) pieces that broach new frontiers, telling stories of resilience and moving audiences to take action. Last fall, Martha arranged for a RYOT staff member to show our BSS Grade 7 students a virtual reality film that RYOT shot for Sierra Club in advance of the Paris climate talks. Martha has also been a passionate advocate and supporter of social issues in Haiti for several years.
