Student Academy Award Winner!

Emily KASSIE ’10 has won a Student Academy Award for her feature film documentary ‘I Married My Family’s Killer,’ on intermarriage in post-genocide Rwanda. Emily is an award winning documentary filmmaker, journalist, photographer and artistic director. She is also a writer, reporter and photo and video journalist for The Huffington Post covering social justice and human rights issues. After BSS, she graduated with honors from Brown University with a B.A. in Politics, Film and Journalism, a regional focus on East Africa and a thematic focus on human rights and genocide. Emily took her first film class at BSS and made her first doc here. Congrats Emily!
