Mary Louise DICKSON ‘58, O.ONT., Q.C., a partner in the law firm Dickson MacGregor Appell LLP, is an author, educator, activist and highly respected expert in the field of estate law. After contracting polio at the age of seven, Mary Louise spent much of her childhood at a rehabilitation facility.

Many said I wouldn’t get a job because I am a woman. Never mind the chair.
Overcoming unimaginable obstacles, she became one of only three women in a class of 150 attending Osgoode Hall law school, where she earned her degree. Mary Louise has fought tirelessly for the rights of the disabled, raising awareness that has changed perceptions and policies to help others live full and productive lives.
