Global Chief Data and AI Advisor, Microsoft
Past BSS parent Cari Covent is the Global Chief Data and AI Advisor at Microsoft and a senior executive with deep experience helping organizations turn data strategy and AI ambition into measurable
business value. She advises senior leaders on enterprise data strategy, responsible AI adoption, and operating model transformation, bringing a practical perspective on how to move from vision to execution.

Prior to Microsoft, Cari advised public and private sector organizations on data strategy and outcome driven AI scaled adoption, including the Government of Ontario, financial institutions,
retailers and non-profits. She previously led Artificial Intelligence, Data and Emerging Technology at Canadian Tire Corporation, where she drove AI-enabled transformation at scale.

Cari currently serves as a Board Director at Queen’s University Smith School of Business for Master of Management and Analytics and Scale AI and is a member of Canada’s Federal AI Strategy Task Force. She is recognized for bringing a strategic, governance-oriented and
practitioner-led lens to board and executive discussions on innovation, growth and resilience.
