Simply click on Apply, create an account and fill out the online application form, including the parent and student questionnaires. You can pause and resume your application at any time before submitting it.
Applications for Day students are accepted from September to December 1, 2023. We encourage all families to apply during this period. If you missed the deadline or you are relocating from a different city or country, please email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
After your application and documentation are submitted, you will have access to our online interview booking site. You will be able to pick a time that works for your family.
Day applicants who submitted their application by the December deadline will receive a decision by the third week of February, on the Common Offer Day, in line with other independent schools in Toronto. All admissions decisions are communicated by email.
The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is a standardized test used by admission officers to assess the abilities of students seeking to enrol in an independent school.
BSS does not require the SSAT for students entering any grade. Applicants must complete our own school assessment. International students and other students living outside the Greater Toronto Area will be asked to complete our virtual assessment.
Junior School Junior and Senior Kindergarten applicants come together in small groups and spend time in our classroom, engaging in fun activities with our teachers. Applicants in Grades 1 - 6 also complete a math and English test, as well as group activities and games.
Middle and Senior School Assessments in the Middle and Senior School include math and literacy tests.
This year we will be admitting one class for Junior Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 6 and Grade 7, and two classes for Grade 9. We also have a limited number of spots in Grades 4, 5, 10 and 11. The intake for non-entry years will depend on our re-enrolment numbers.
Yes, you are still able to apply for a non-entry year. Our availability in those grades will depend mainly on our re-enrollment numbers. If you are applying for SK, Grade 2, Grade 3 or Grade 8 (Day), interviews and assessments will occur as space becomes available.
Unfortunately, we do not admit students going into Grade 12. The academic workload, university applications and extracurricular activities make it difficult for new students to transition smoothly in their last year of high school.
