Congratulations to our DECA provincial competitors! In February, 30 BSS students competed in the DECA provincials, a major opportunity to sharpen their professionalism, communication skills, critical thinking and confidence in a real-world business setting.
Twelve students qualified for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta this April. The conference is the culmination of the DECA competition year, where more than 25,000 high school students, teacher-advisors, business professionals and alumni gather for competitive events, leadership development, post-secondary and career exhibits, and more.
Below are some highlights of our students’ successes. Congratulations to all the competitors for their hard work and business acumen!
Jacinta W ’27 placed in the Top 20 in her second role play in Personal Financial Literacy.
Angel P ’27 earned a Top 15 test score and Top 9 overall in Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling, and qualified for ICDC.
Chelsea J ’27 placed in the Top 20 both their role plays, earned a Top 15 test score and Top 10 placement overall in Restaurant and Food Services Management, and qualified for ICDC for the second year.
Jessica D ’28 placed in the Top 20 in her first role play in Principles of Business Management and Administration, earned a Top 15 test score, placed in the Top 10 overall and qualified for ICDC. This is her first year competing in DECA.
Joanna C ’26 and Cindy P ’26 placed in the Top 9 overall in Business Services Operations Research, and qualified for ICDC for the third year in a row.
Holly Y ’26 and Serena F ’26 placed in the Top 9 overall in Buying and Merchandising Operations Research. They both qualified for ICDC, Holly for the third year and Serena for the second.
Lilian F ’29 placed in the Top 9 overall in Buying and Merchandising Operations Research and earned a spot at ICDC. This is her first year competing in DECA.
Emily G ’26 and Emma M ’26 qualified for ICDC with a Top 12 finish in International Business Plan.
