For our youngest learners to our senior students — and even parents — the first weeks of school have been filled with opportunities to connect, celebrate and set the tone for an inspiring year ahead.
Our Grade 7–12 community gathered at Grace Church on-the-Hill for Opening Chapel, where we welcomed this year’s Prefects and Head Ambassador with their pins and celebrated the Class of 2026 as they received their graduating ties. Dr. Terpstra reminded us that we are stronger together, echoing Olympian Marnie McBean’s message at last year’s Girls March that a united chain can move mountains, while our Head Prefect challenged us to be bold and extraordinary.
The Junior School began its year with their first Chapel, a meaningful moment for Grade 6 students who proudly received their ties, marking both their final year in the Junior School and their new role as leaders. Principal Watters welcomed our newest community members, and Mother Claire reminded us that true leadership begins with kindness and care.
At the Middle and Senior School Opening Assembly, the 2025–26 Prefect team unveiled this year’s theme: “Galactic Trips in 2026.” Encouraging their peers to explore the unknown, embrace innovation and dream big, the Prefects shared a vision for a year of curiosity, courage and discovery. A lively trivia game spotlighting extraordinary role models brought the whole community together.
Our parents and guardians are also busy building connections. Parent Coffee Mornings have begun and will continue throughout September, offering families the chance to meet one another and connect with staff. We’re also looking forward to the Junior School Bobcat Breakfast on September 25 — a fun-filled way to start the school day, hosted by everyone’s favourite mascot.
