This fall, the BSS Parent Association hosted a well-being workshop that offered practical tools for cultivating self-compassion, emotional resilience and mindful parenting.
Attendees participated in facilitator-led discussions that emphasized strategies such as “Name it to tame it” (noticing when our minds exaggerate challenges), “Feel it to heal it” (validating emotions rather than suppressing them) and “Set an intention” (choosing to treat yourself with kindness for the benefit of yourself and your family). They also learned about practical tools like self-compassion breaks, in-the-moment resets and daily mindfulness practices.
The attendees left feeling inspired to weave these practices into their daily family routines, strengthening their personal resilience and our community well-being.
“Events like this bring our parent community together in such a meaningful way,” said Parent Association Co-Chair Jenn Morassutti. “They create space for connection, learning and support, reminding us that wellness isn’t something we pursue alone, but something we build collectively.”
