Sharing Holiday Love

The generosity of the BSS community was on full display this season as students, families and staff united to support children in need and local women’s shelters across Toronto.
Through a partnership with Heart to Hand, the BSS community provided 585 pyjama and book bundles, offering comfort and connection to local children who are in the foster care system, living in shelters, or living at home and in need of extra support. Donations also funded $3,800 in gift cards, allowing recipients the flexibility to meet their most immediate needs.

Student leadership played a meaningful role in these efforts. Students in Grades 9 - 12 organized and collected 1,133 toiletry items for Helping Handbags, which were distributed to three women’s shelters in the Toronto area. Their commitment reflects our emphasis on ethical citizenship and social responsibility.

Together, these contributions went beyond meeting material needs. They offered dignity, care and hope to recipients, and helped students develop a deep sense of responsibility to one another and to the wider community.
