I was able to sell my work to places like CBC and BBC because they were looking for a different side of the war, not always the American ‘we’ and ‘us’ point of view. I guess I essentially invented my job.
Her unique take on the lives of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events has won her praise and respect among audiences and fellow journalists alike. Because of her exceptional talent, courage and compassion, she has given a voice to those who have been silenced by conflict and fear.
