Local and Global Experiences

While our students spend most of their time here on our campus in Toronto, the world is their classroom. BSS students investigate real-world issues and have impactful experiences on trips and exchanges to various destinations in Canada and around the world.
Here are some of our recent and upcoming trips.

  • New York City to participate in workshops on stage combat, theatre tech and performance, take a behind-the-scenes tour of Radio City Music Hall, and experience live Broadway performances.
  • Thirty students trekked to Point Pelee National Park, where over four days, they hiked 40 kilometres, stayed in yurts and cooked all their own food. Despite the epic weather, each student earned their Bronze Duke of Ed Adventurous Journey.

  • A group of ten Grade 7 and 8 students travelled to the Bamfield Marine Science Centre to engage in a scientific exploration of coastal ecosystems. They gained hands-on experience with technical instruments, discovered fascinating plant and animal life, and learned about Indigenous land use and ecological knowledge.
  • We will host two Grade 11 students from Sacred Heart School in Tokyo, Japan in December and their BSS exchange partners will visit them in January. BSS students will also be participating in exchanges to Melbourne Girls’ Grammar School in Australia and L’Ermitage International School in France in 2024.

  • In the new year, students will be travelling to Belize, the Galápagos Islands, Spain and Nova Scotia for service, cultural and environmental stewardship experiences.
