We are pleased to announce that Lynda Watters, our current Junior School Principal, will be the new Deputy Head of School, beginning in July 2026.
Since coming to BSS in 2023, Lynda has emerged as a truly transformative leader, distinguished by her unwavering commitment to our mission. She demonstrates this by empowering our faculty to deliver exceptional teaching and by actively creating opportunities for students to develop as leaders.
Since joining BSS in 2023 as the Principal of the Junior School, Lynda has collaborated with faculty and the leaders across the school to drive the implementation of our strategic plan. This includes aligning academic and co-curricular programs, partnering with the Dean of Teaching and Learning to evolve our future-focused programming, and building strong relationships with faculty and staff to set direction and enhance student learning, well-being and leadership development, all aligned with the Signature of a BSS Girl. She has also been instrumental in utilizing data to strategically report on programming and student outcomes, allowing her to identify areas of strength, growth and continuous improvement.
With extensive leadership experience in the Toronto District School Board as a teacher, vice principal and principal, Lynda is an innovative leader who builds connections that strengthen community while consistently prioritizing student interests and success. She spends time in the classroom to understand student learning, well-being and conduct, and takes a people-first approach to leadership that fosters trust and collaboration. The outcome is a vibrant environment where students feel a strong sense of belonging, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Her transition represents more than just a continuity of leadership; it ushers in new opportunities for growth as we relentlessly pursue our mission. Lynda will assume her new role on July 2, 2026. We are excited to maintain this momentum and further empower our girls to become transformative leaders.
