Robert Grundleger, Chair


Robert Grundleger co-founded Groundlayer Capital, a leading focused investment firm, in 2002.  Previously, he served as a Vice President of Wood Gundy, and as Director of Institutional Equities at First Marathon Securities and at National Bank Financial.   Robert is a Past President of the Harvard Business School Club of Toronto and serves on the Investment Committee of The Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in economics, from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, and an MBA from Harvard University.  He served as a Governor since 2003, and is a current parent.

Andrew Federer and Andrea ODETTE Federer ’79


Andrew Federer is Vice Chairman of RBC Capital Markets and member of the Canadian Global Investment Banking Operating Committee.  Andrew has an extensive and broad range of transactional experience having advised a number of North America’s leading and largest Corporate Issuers and Financial Sponsors.  Andrew also sits on other not-for-profit boards, including the Art Gallery of Ontario Board of Trustees.  He is a current BSS parent.

Marianne and Andrew Guizzetti

Marianne Guizzetti holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto and is the former owner of a physiotherapy clinic offering multidisciplinary services.  She has been involved with BSS since 2007, and has had many varied roles as a BSS volunteer, including co-chairing the Parent Association Executive from 2012 to 2014.  She is a parent of a current BSS student and of a graduate.

Royal Hong


Royal has a background in both law and business and is a co-founder and Director of K-Steel International Trading Inc.  She holds a Bachelor Degree of Law in China and is passionate about running an import and export business.  Royal is a current BSS parent with two girls in the Junior School.

Sarah Kavanagh

Sarah Kavanagh is a Corporate Director and Commissioner of the Ontario Securities Commission.  She was formerly Vice Chair, Investment Banking and Co-Head of Diversified Industries at Scotia Capital.  Ms. Kavanagh has extensive corporate finance experience in both Canada and the U.S. and has been a leader in advancing women in the capital markets business.  She holds an MBA from Harvard and a BA in Economics from Williams College.  She previously served as Chair of the Board of Trustees, and her three daughters are graduates of the School.

Janelle and Pierre Lassonde

Janelle Lassonde
Janelle Lassonde is a former director of credit risk at UBS in London and Johannesburg.  Today she is a freelance writer with work appearing in MacLean’s and MotorBoat & Yachting and on her Vanity Fair-cited blog French Lessons.  She chairs a schools-based campaign for global microfinance organization Opportunity International.  She also serves as a board member of The Walrus Foundation and WorldVuze Education, and as flutist at St Paul’s Bloor Street.

Pierre Lassonde
Pierre Lassonde is recognized as one of Canada’s foremost experts in the area of mining and precious metals.  He co-founded Franco-Nevada Mining Corporation in 1982 with Seymour Schulich and has been the chairman there since 2007.  Among his many accomplishments are five Honourary Doctorates in Engineering, Law and Business.  He was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2001. Pierre has served as a BSS Trustee since 2010 and he and Janelle are current BSS parents.

Cindy TRIPP ‘82


Cindy TRIPP ’82 is currently Co-Head and Managing Director, Institutional Trading of GMP Securities L.P. (“GMP”).  In addition to these responsibilities Cindy has oversight of retail trading, securities lending and foreign exchange and is a member of GMP’s Risk Committee.  Cindy has been with GMP since its founding in 1995.  Cindy also sits on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Financial Services Alliance. She has been a BSS Governor since 2010, and is a BSS Old Girl and past parent.

Beth CURRIE Watt ’88


Beth is thrilled to be back in the BSS community after spending the past 20 years in the Washington, DC area where she worked as a Sr. Director for the Food Marketing Institute.  She has been actively involved in volunteering and fundraising at her children’s former school, The Langley School, in McLean, VA. In addition to serving on the Campaign Cabinet, Beth is on the Father Daughter Dinner Committee and a Parent Ambassador. As an Old Girl and current parent, it is a privilege to be a part of this progressive and leading school once again.
