As we continue to build a broad foundation of knowledge and skills for every student, we are thoughtfully combining data from innovative external assessments with our own internal findings to strategically inform our
academic program. With this data, teachers across Grades 3 to 9 are empowered to make personalized, growth-oriented decisions in reading, writing and mathematics. Our dedicated grade and course teams are also enriching and extending the Ontario curriculum, with a focus on critical areas like AI and ethical citizenship. To ensure this work is future-forward and grounded in the classroom, we are building the capacity of our teachers to embed
STEM learning in the curriculum and have additional resources for our STEM work in these grades. We are seeing the results of these changes: students in Grades 3 to 9 are showing growth in mathematics and students in Grades 4 to 8 are embarking on STEM innovation with hands-on projects in augmented reality and AI.
We believe student learning is most impactful when classroom instruction is paired with real-world discovery. This drives our
Global Learning program, which this year involves over 100 Middle and Senior School students across nine global trips and exchanges. Students are applying classroom learning firsthand, whether it’s strengthening language fluency with exchange partners or using biology in Belize.
We are also expanding opportunities in
athletics. With our new strategy, we remain dedicated to running a variety of teams for all skill levels, and employing a coaching model that leverages the expertise of professional coaches and dedicated teachers. Our donor-supported
High Performance Athlete Program is in its second year and provides tailored resources such as on-site nutrition and sleep counselling for elite athletes, so they can pursue excellence while remaining active in school life.
The inaugural class of
Lang Scholars have begun their leadership journey. Following a retreat, an inspiring lunch with the program’s benefactor, Stu Lang, and an initial meeting with their mentors, the Scholars are actively exploring their leadership style and strengthening their potential as future female leaders.
Our Strategic Plan involved an ongoing commitment to superb learning environments across the school. We continue to invest today, we are always looking ahead, particularly at the innovative ways our students will learn in the years to come. This commitment has continued to translate into concrete improvements: we recently replaced our Junior School sport court with a new turf that allows our students to play and exercise safely and expansively. We have also strengthened our commitment to safety and privacy of our students and our community by upgrading our technology infrastructure.
Guided by our Master Plan, we are now moving toward a future filled with exciting possibilities, prioritizing the re-envisioning of our legacy classrooms in the Lonsdale building. Being innovative means thinking beyond traditional walls to make learning visible, providing open areas for collaboration, and incorporating flexibility through reconfigurable designs, movable furniture, and portable technology. Ultimately, it is our community, through philanthropic support, that will make these plans possible, allowing us to create dynamic learning spaces that will shape not only how our students learn and grow, but how they develop the leadership essential for the next generation.
Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our faculty, staff, parents, students, alumnae and volunteers, we have made tremendous strides this last year. Working together, we continue to inspire girls to be fearless and educate them to be the leaders the world needs.
