Honouring faculty and staff's unwavering commitment

How do you say ‘thank you’ to faculty and staff who have shown an unwavering commitment to the education of their students while navigating the unprecedented campus closure due to COVID-19? For the BSS Parent Association, the answer was clear: a donation to the school in their honour.
In late spring, the Parent Association unanimously approved a $100,000 donation to the BSS Foundation, citing the faculty and staff’s continued prioritization of students’ experiences, emerging learning needs and well-being. This donation to The BSS Parent Association Bursary has strengthened the school’s endowment and increased the amount of Financial Assis-tance available to qualifying families.

Vanessa Vanclief, a BSS faculty member for more than 20 years, has never before witnessed a gesture of recognition at this scale. “This gift recognizes what we already love to do – give young people the tools they need to grow and strive to do their best – and allows us to share that with even more deserving students and families.”

In her letter of thanks to the Parent Association, Dr. Angela Terpstra, Head of School, says, “Financial Assistance is at the core of our mission to provide inspirational, accessible education. Your support of our teachers, educators, and staff is so very meaningful as we aim, daily, to deliver on this mission.”
